Current Shipping Estimates
If you don't want to read the specifics below: presently, everything except lectures and pre-orders should be expected to ship within 1-5 business days. (Please note that this timeframe indicates when your order is expected to enter the mail system; USPS, UPS, and FedEx are all experiencing intermittent delays in response to ongoing events, and we cannot confidently estimate your package's arrival).
We are currently filling book orders both from our store's inventory and from partnered distributor warehouses so that your selections arrive to you as soon as possible. Books showing the status "On our Shelves now" and "Usually ships in 1-5 days" should be expected to ship in...1-5 days! Most orders of this type actually ship within 1-2 business days, but there have been some delays, and we don't want to promise what we can't deliver. If your order also contains items only found at our location, your entire order will ship from our store. Books that show as "on our shelves now" may ship from either our store or directly from our distributor; whichever we believe will reach you more quickly. Books that do not have an "availability" status but do have an "add to cart" button are books that will always ship from our store. Please note that books listed as "Pre-order" or "coming soon" will ship based on their publishing schedule, and may delay the rest of your order. Watch for the blue pre-order banner that will show over the cover image.
At present, most lecture discs are not available to ship. Nearly all are made-to-order, and we are currently unable to do so. We have not taken lecture products off our website, but please be aware that there's no current estimated shipping period for lectures, unless we happen to have a spare copy around. It might be a while. We recommend you check out Chautauqua's Online Grounds, where over 2000 lectures are available for free to any account holders (accounts are also free!). 2020 Lectures are available on CHQ Assembly, the new, digital expression of Chautauqua Institution.
Our collection of Chautauqua-specific products should be expected to ship out in 1-5 business days. If you would like more information about the shipping availability of the items in your order, specifically, or would only like things that can ship in a narrower timeframe, please let us know in your Order Comment section. If we cannot fulfill your order to your standards, we will cancel your order or remove items before charging and shipping, as per your instructions.
Store Products not shown on the Website
Were you hoping for a product we usually carry that you don't see online? Please ask about desired products through our contact page. If it's available, we can either add it to our site and let you know, or arrange an order and payment over the phone. We'd love to know what people are interested in ordering from us online!
Gift cards need to be created in-store, and so follow Store Product rules. Also be aware that certain locations or services that usually accept CHQ Gift Cards may not be available this season.
Memberships, Donations, etc.
Purchasing a CLSC Membership, Chautauqua Fund donation, or any other item that does not require shipping will not affect the shipping time on the rest of your order.
We are now offering curbside pickup for both Web and Phone orders! For web orders, choose "curbside pick-up" at checkout. To place a curbside order by phone, call 716.357.2151 to speak to a member of our staff, or email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, phone number, and information on what you're looking for, and a staff member will call you to complete the order when they are able.
Once your order is ready and we have notified you, you can pick up your order at the parking lot next to the bookstore during our regular hours. Once you arrive to pick up your order, please plan to call 716.357.2151 when you will arrive and provide your vehicle description to aid a member of our staff to bring it to your car. If your preference is to have completely contactless delivery, please have your trunk or back door open before notifying us of your arrival. If there is to be any type of contact or conversation, we ask that you please wear a mask.
If your order experiences unusual delays, we will waive your shipping fee before processing your payment.
